Productivity Tips for Busy Entrepreneurs

As a business owner, you might think that getting a few extra hands will get the job done. But in many cases, this isn’t the best thing to do. Make sure you and your small business accomplish day-to-day activities efficiently. These productivity tips will help you do exactly just that.

Establish a morning routine. Use the first few hours of your working day to prioritize tasks. Then at the end of the day, think about what you have done in the morning. If you get good results, stick to this routine on the next day, and the following day thereafter.  You will eventually find a morning routine that works for you.

Write your to-do list. When used correctly, this can be your lifesaver. Be sure to check off your list, one task at a time. A great way to master your to-do list is to sort out your activities. You can break them down into daily or weekly tasks. With today’s tech savvy world, you can use apps like Evernote and Wunderlist to manage your list accordingly. Also, be careful not to commit in too many time-sensitive tasks in one day.

Maximize your efficiency. Use the right tools and apps such as Pocket to save articles you can read at a later moment or to stay up-to-date with the latest in your industry, Dropbox for keeping track of and accessing important files, GoToMeeting for virtual collaboration, and more.

Set some time off. Regardless of what industry or company you are in, it is important to set aside some time to disconnect. Take advantage of your breaks to get some coffee or tea, or catch up with your colleagues about non-work related stuff. A little break may be what you need to get back on track.

Don’t procrastinate. Be sure to tackle simple tasks as they come so it won’t pile up in your to-do list. Again, it all boils down to prioritizing and effective delegation.
